Rosa The Brush Maker is part of a series of lino prints I have been working on, featuring artisans who make beautiful items with their hands.

I have one of Rosa’s little brushes hanging in my kitchen – it’s for sweeping up crumbs and I love it, things like this make me very happy!

Taken from an original pencil drawing and then carefully carved into two separate lino blocks to make a print of two colours.

Printed with Cranfield Caligo ink onto Japanese Awagami silk pure white paper, with deckled edges. The outline ink is a lovely rich, dark brown called Van Dyke brown. Rosa has got amazing red curly hair so it was lovely to include that in the print with an ink called honey brown.

Unframed. A3 size.

Please note: Each print is unique and due to the hand-printed nature of this work there may be the odd imperfection – part of the joy, charm and authenticity of the printmaking process! Perfect for adding character to any space, especially when grouped with other pieces.
