Description
Hopewood Baskets is part of a series of lino prints I have been working on, featuring artisans who make beautiful items with their hands.
Sarah from Hopewood Baskets in Worcestershire, makes the most amazing baskets and this really big one caught my eye! I knew it would be a really good challenge for lino cutting, that’s for sure.
Taken from an original pencil drawing and then carefully carved into a traditional lino block to make a print. The bits I cut away don’t print so there’s a lot to think about in an intricate design like this one.
Printed with Cranfield Caligo ink onto Japanese Awagami silk pure white paper, with deckled edges. The ink is a lovely rich, dark brown called Van Dyke brown.
Unframed. A3 size.
Please note: Each print is unique and due to the hand-printed nature of this work there may be the odd imperfection – part of the joy, charm and authenticity of the printmaking process! Perfect for adding character to any space, especially when grouped with other pieces.
At the moment shipping is set up for the UK only but please send me a message if you live outside the UK and would like to order a print. Thank you.
