Description
Stormy St Ives is a beautiful, handmade lino print featuring a woman (for once it’s me!) looking out over St Ives in Cornwall. We stayed for a week in a gorgeous apartment which had an iron balcony and amazing stained glass window. So lots of interesting details to add to my drawing and lino print (as well as my patterned tank top, the waves and sandy beach).
Taken from an original pencil drawing and then carefully carved into a traditional grey lino block to make a print.
Printed with Cranfield Caligo ink onto Japanese Awagami silk pure white paper, with deckled edges. I wanted to experiment with lots of mark making with this one so I decided to just stick to black ink.
Unframed. A3.
Please note: Each print is unique and due to the hand-printed nature of this work there may be the odd imperfection – part of the joy, charm and authenticity of the printmaking process! Perfect for adding character to any space, especially when grouped with other pieces.
