Shoe and Tile Gazing (Eric Ravilious Inspired)

Description

Shoe and Tile Gazing is a beautiful, handmade lino print depicting my trainers and some patterned tiles.

Taken from an original pencil drawing and then carefully carved into three separate lino blocks to make a print of three colours.

Printed with Cranfield Caligo ink onto Japanese Awagami silk pure white paper, with deckled edges. The colours were mixed to resemble an Eric Ravilious print. I also printed it by hand with my trusty wooden spoon so that I could make the tiles slightly mottled, rather than a solid colour.

Unframed. 47cm x 47cm.

Please note: Each print is unique and due to the hand-printed nature of this work there may be the odd imperfection – part of the joy, charm and authenticity of the printmaking process! Perfect for adding character to any space, especially when grouped with other pieces.
